Information from Madeline (Petersen) Peterson:
Christen was called "Little Chris." He walked a lot and was described as short and with a bit of a hunch back. He
had a saying that he liked: "After breakfast walk a mile. After supper rest a while." .

At the age of 11 yrs. came to the United States with his mother who was coming over to keep house for her sister's recently widowed
husband, who she ended up marrying.
To our knowledge we do not know if the sister's husband adopted him or not but he was raised and treated equally with the other children born to that marriage.
Christian was an illegitimate child and his real father's name was Jens Christensen.
Christian lived and married in Dannebrog, NE. He married Karen Trina Kaae on 1 Nov 1891 at Marquette, NE.
they farmed in that area near St. Libory for the next 5 years. in 1915 they went to Dannevirke where they operated a store for
two years. After that they returned to Dannebrog and lived there until the death of his wife in 1933.
He spent the next seven years living with his son Carl and family in Cheyenne, WY. Sometime during the last year or so he moved to Rawlins, WY to live with another son, Elmer where he was planning to spend the winter. Death came at the age of 78 yrs. in Jan of 1941.
