Edna M. Petersen, 65, of Wood River, died January 30, 1985 at Wood River. Services were held Monday, February 4, 1985 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Dannebrog. Rev. Irvin Briese and Rev. John Meyer officiated. burial was in Loup Fork Cemetery at Boelus. Jacobsen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Leonard Gorecki, Terry Gorecki, Daniel Gorecki, Ronald Gorecki, Ricky Gorecki, and Larry Gorecki.

Mrs. Petersen was born January 26, 1920 at Bertrand, Nebr. to George and Martha Burr Wellsandt. At the age of 10, she moved with her family to Grand Island. She received her education in Grand Island and graduated from high school there n 1939. Edna was employed for many years at a laundry business in Grand Island before her marriage.

On December 28, 1966, Edna was united in marriage to Theodore Petersen at Messiah Lutheran in Grand Island. The couple made their home on a farm west of Dannebrog for over 18 years. In September of 1984, the couple moved to Cairo. Edna entered the Good Samaritan Center of Wood River this last January due to illness.

She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Dannebrog.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore, of Cairo; step-daughters, Madeline Peterson and Garnet Meyer, both of Hastings, and Carol Glass of Rock Port, Texas; thirteen step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert.
