The children were: Soren Christian 11, Bodil Marie 9, Caroline 6, Petrea 4, and Mathilde 11 months. Their last residence in Denmark was in Thisted, Thisted, Denmark. They arrived in New York October 13, 1873 on the ship Baltic from Liverpool, England.
The family story is that Kirstine broke out with chicken pox on the day they landed.
Anders worked for A. Hall and Sons brickyard.
In the 1880 census, the family was living on Hartford Street in Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Anders was listed as Andrew Matson, 48 years old, born in Denmark, and working in a brick factory. Kirstine was listed as Mary, 44 years old, and born in Denmark. The children were: Carl 20, Christ 18, Mary 15, Annie 13, Lenna 10, Tilda 8, William 5, and Tina 2.
In 1887, the family visited Denmark.
KRISTINE died on Feb 3, 1915 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, at age 78.5
