Sorensen Rites Held
Ravenna Resident was Native of Dannebrog

Ravenna, Neb., Aug. 21. - Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Love Mortuary for Mrs. Dora Marie Sundstrom, 74, who died last Friday in a Kearney hospital.

Mrs. Sorensen was born in Dannebrog Jan 10, 1877, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Petersen. She was married June 4, 1897, to Laurence Sorensen of Boelus. They lived for a time near Loup City and then moved back to Boelus.

After their retirement in 1947, Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen moved into Ravenna, where they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary four years ago. Mr. Sorensen died Feb. 9, 1948.

Baptized in the Danish Lutheran Church, Mrs. Sorensen later became a member of the Congregational Church in Ravenna.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Carrie Hansen, Portland, Ore.; Victor Sorensen, Omaha; Jesse Sorensen, Holton, Kas.; Edward Sorensen, Ojai, Cal.; Mrs. Marie Hackbart, Cairo; Mrs. Rose Maixner, Ravenna; Mrs. Myrtle Hedglin, Wood River; Otto Sorensen, Wood River; Norman Sorensen, Kimball; Mrs. Laura Thomas, Ravenna; also three brothers, Martin Petersen of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Anton Petersen, Sioux City, Ia., and P.S. Petersen, Omaha, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Christensen, Boelus. There are also 39 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

At the funeral Monday, Mrs. Love and Mrs. Stochdopole sang "Sunrise Tomorrow" and "Beyond the Sunset," which were favorites of Mrs. Sorensen. Pallbearers were Pete Christensen, Carl Christensen, Edward Hansen, Edmond Petersen, George Sorensen, and Jens Petersen

Our dear mother is gone and to the neighbors and friends who helped her so much while she was alive we say thanks. Thanks for the many kindnesses and cheerful words to make her happy. To the friends after her death, the singers, pallbearers, Golden Friendship Club, V.F.W. Auxilliary, Mr. Love and to Rev. Hieb and to those for the flowers and food, we again say thank you.
