Edgar G. Pedersen, age 92, of Watertown, South Dakota passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown. Funeral services were Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown with Reverend Renee Tecklenburg officiating. Mary Wika was the organist with Maddy Gohn and Judy Everson as soloists.

Honorary Groups were the Erwin Community, Erwin American Legion, Watertown VFW, and past and present residence at Condo #3.

Military Honors were conducted by the American Legion of Erwin and Bryant, SD.

Interment was at Danish Cemetery, rural Lake Norden, South Dakota.

Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Kris Gohn, Kim Gullickson, Jacque Flick, Brooke Vigness, Erica Lehmkuhl, Anthony Pedersen, Brittany Pedersen, Kaitlin Pedersen and Kelli Pedersen.

Edgar G. Pedersen was born June 7, 1919 to Andrew and Petrina O. (Grankjar) Pedersen in rural Badger, South Dakota. He grew up in the Bryant area, attended country school and graduated from Bryant High School. He joined the United States Army and served for five years during WWII, participating in the Battle of the Bulge. After he returned from the service he married Marie G. Theisen on November 15, 1945 in Bryant. He lived and farmed in the Erwin area for over 40 years. Edgar and Marie left the farm in 1985 moving to Watertown. The couple spent 14 years wintering in Mesa, Arizona.

He was a member Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bryant, Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown, Charter member of Kingbrook Water System, ASC, VFW, Erwin American Legion and the Erwin School Board.

Edgar enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, fishing and bowling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and his brothers, Robert and Arne Pedersen.

Edgar is survived by his children, John (Dianne) Pedersen of Pierre, SD, Jeanne (Jim) Thompson of Salt Lake City, UT, Roland (Debra) Pedersen of Sioux Falls, SD, and Jerry (Kathy) Pedersen of Dallas, TX; his siblings, Esther Tibke of Watertown, SD, Duane (Bernita) Pedersen of Sun Lakes, AZ; his sister-in-law, Myrt Pedersen of Albuquerque, NM; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
