Wilhelmine "Billie" Klentz, 96, of Grand Island died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Sr. Francis Medical Center, Grand Island.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Klentz was born July 12, 1916, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Anton and Evalina (Schmideberg) Petersen.

She was baptized as an infant and confirmed her faith in her savior on June 8, 1930, at Morningside Lutheran Church, Sioux City. She attended public school and graduated from East High School in Sioux City. She completed nurses training at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital in Chicago in 1939.

After some private duty nursing she worked at Prince Crossing, a Children's Convalescent Home. She married Bill Mountjoy and they returned to Sioux City. Later in 1950 she moved with her three children to Norfolk. She worked at the Lutheran Community Hospital and opened a Child Care Center, "Billie's Day Nursery." In 1957, she began working at the Norfolk Regional Center and continued there until retiring in 1978. She married Ervin Klentz in 1964.

Billie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she was an active member in the Christ Lutheran Ladies Circle and L.W.M.L.

Billie is survived by daughters, Bonnel Klentz of Abington, Mass., Yolande Mountjoy of Grand Island and Karen and husband, Jerry Peterson, of Victoria, Texas; sons, Richard and wife, Sherri, Klentz of Grand Island and Mike and wife, Nancy, Mountjoy of Dayton, Nev.; grandchildren, Seth and wife, Megan, Klentz of Brookings, S.D., Chelsi and husband, Brett Davis, of Lincoln, Megan and husband, Kenny, Bennett of Victoria, Texas, Graham Peterson of Austin, Texas, Billy and Joey Mountjoy of Dayton, Nev., Beth Koenig and husband, Feras Amr, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Katrina Koenig of Mexico and Peter Koenig of Seneca, Kan.; and six great-grandchildren, Kanin Klentz, Nathan and Alyssa Bennett, Raegan, Darian and Kaden Koenig.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, in 2009 and by one sister.
